On Monday, January 4th, at 7pm STVFD was toned for working structure fire on Exton Court in the River Run subdivision. Engines 81, 85, 82, 121, and 1, as well as Tower 88, Car 80, Ambulance 146, Car 81, Chief 10, Training 11, and FM 10 responded.

Just one week after a two alarm residential fire STVFD gets hit with a two alarm garden apartment fire in Abbington Crossing. TO88 arrived first in to find fire and smoke showing from the rear of the structure.

Seminole Trail’s “A” crew was winding down their evening and about to go to bed around 11pm when the station alerting system crackled to life. ECC began dispatching units to a reported house on fire in the Still Meadows neighborhood in station 8's first due.

While covering Station 10 for CFD, who was tied up on a hazmat call, E81 was called for a commercial structure fire at an apartment complex on Arlington Blvd along with E85 and units from the city.

Charlottesville Engine 2 arrived to investigate an alarm activation shortly after a strong storm passed through the area. Upon finding smoke in the structure, the box was filled, bringing units from Station 8 - already having a busy shift, Station 4, Station 5, and Station 11. A significant amount of damage was prevented by the crews' quick response and diligent investigation.

Tower 88 was on the original dispatch for a smoke alarm sounding with Engine 6, Engine 58, and Tanker 111. While units were in route dispatch advised the caller had smoke in the house and they upgraded the call. Engine 6 arrived first due and found smoke on the first and second floors

Over the past week Central Virginia has been in the grips of a significant cold snap. Seminole Trail units were dispatched to 55 incidents during the period from Jan. 15th to Jan. 21st. 15 of those calls occurred on Sat. Jan 17th while E Crew was on duty. They ran a total of 23 calls on their weekend shift including a working fire on Cleveland Ave. in the City of Charlottesville.

Units were dispatched for smoke coming from a apartment at 151 Whitewood Road as a reduced response. Chief 83 arrived a few minutes after dispatch and reported nothing showing. Capt. Wiles arrived on scene, by foot from his place of employment just up the street, and updated that a ground floor apartment was filled with smoke with occupants evacuating the building.
