STVFD regrets to announce the passing of Chief James L. "Jimmy" Carter
NewsDecember 7, 2011
It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of Chief James L. "Jimmy" Carter. Chief Carter was the first Fire Chief of the Seminole Trail VFD and served in that capacity for 10 years. He was the man who set the foundation that made Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department what it is today. It was his steady demeanor that enabled STVFD to overcome many obstacles in our early years. He will be sorely missed.
RIP Chief
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Peggy Carter during this trying time.

Busy weekend for STVFD and Albemarle County
The weekend of February 19th was one of the busier weekends that Station
8 has had in a long time. Not only in the number of calls, but the
severity and duration of the calls. Weather conditions presented a
perfect scenario for wild fires; high winds, low humidity, and a lack
of precipitation. It was a 'Red Flag' day and around noon on the 19th
the call volume started to pick up.
