Free State Road RR Bridge will be closed for 3 weeks

FREE STATE ROAD BRIDGE TO CLOSE FRIDAY FOR REPAIRS
Detour will be posted; work by railroad estimated to take three weeks
CULPEPER – The bridge across the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks on Free State Road/Route 651 in Albemarle County will be closed to traffic on Friday, Nov. 9.
The bridge, which is owned by Norfolk Southern Corp., will be closed for approximately three weeks for structural repairs. The railroad plans to begin work on the bridge on Monday, Nov. 12.
Residents and others who use the bridge should detour from East Rio Road/Route 631 onto Dunlora Drive/Route 1177, turning left onto Loring Run/Route 1705, then continue to Free State Road at the intersection of Pike Place and Breckenridge Court. Detour signs will be in place when the bridge is closed on Friday morning.
