New Engine 81 has arrived!!!

December 30, 2007

Engine 81 arrived in Charlottesville today! It was delivered to Station 11 this afternoon by representatives from Pierce Mfg. Engine 121 and Engine 62 were also delivered. Engine 81 will be housed at Station 8 for a few days before it goes to Richmond to have all the equipment mounted. After that it will return and training the new pumper will begin. Thanks go out to all the apparatus committee members for their hard work!!!

December 11, 2007

Members of the STVFD apparatus committee are in Appleton, WI for final inspection of Engine 81. These last four photos were taken on December 10th as final preparations were being made to send the engine to the delivery floor. The graphics were cut and ready for application when the photos were taken. Asst. Chief Hahn is joined by Batt. Chief Rose and Captain Wiles for the inspection. They are also accompanied by members of ACFR for inspection of E121 (Brown, Elliott, and Walker) and members of Stoney Point VFC for inspection of E62 (Armentrout and McFadyen).

Chief Huckstep (Earlysville Fire) brought some updated pictures of Engine 81 back from Wisconsin today. Things seem to be moving along and the update for our apparatus committee to travel to Pierce for the final inspection is they will fly up Monday December 10. Engine 81 is scheduled to be ready for inspection on Tuesday December 11th.
