Engine 85 and Tower 88 responded on the first alarm to a residential structure fire in the Camelot subdivision. Prior to the arrival of responding units a Sta. 4 FF arrived finding a 2 story split level home with heavy smoke showing from the roof. E121 arrived with M121 reporting the same and laid a 4" supply line from the closest hydrant. E85 arrived and made the hydrant connection for E121 as they were getting ready to place a 2" attack line in service on a vented basement fire. Neighbors confirmed that the occupants were out of town for the holiday. Tower 88 took the address upon arrival and FF's immediately went to work opening up all windows on both floors as smoke conditions were extremely heavy throughout the structure. An initial knockdown was accomplished by the first crew but it quickly became apparent that this fire was well seated. Two additional 1-3/4" lines were placed in service to contain fires on division 2 and on the rear of the structure. FM 12 arrived to investigate the fire and units went in service after 1am.
