Units responded to a report of a brush fire threatening a structure in the new Hollymead Town Center area on Saturday. E121 arrived and discovered a fire at the new Rosewood Village building that was very close to the unfinished commercial structure and called to fill the commercial structure fire box. E81 secured a water supply for E121 and the crew searched the structure for any extension while E121 crew extinguished the fire. E81's crew found smoke on the first floor but no extension.
It was later found that construction crews had been cutting metal (aluminum?) supports in the roof of the building entry way under which they had stored their remaining construction supplies (to protect them from the elements I assume). It is thought that sparks from the metal working led to the ignition of the construction materials. Crews made a good stop on the fire, and the building was undamaged, and crews were even able to save a good amount of the materials beside the site of the fire.
