E81,E85,TO88,E1,E82,E121

On Monday, January 4th, at 7pm STVFD was toned for working structure fire on Exton Court in the River Run subdivision. Engines 81, 85, 82, 121, and 1, as well as Tower 88, Car 80, Ambulance 146, Car 81, Chief 10, Training 11, and FM 10 responded. Training 11 was 1st on scene and reported fire through the roof. Engine 85 was the 1st engine on scene and initiated fire attack after pulling a 2" line. Engine 85's crew applied water to the roof to knock down the fire on the ceder shake roof, then made entry and proceeded to the 3rd floor. Once on the 3rd floor, Engine 85's crew pulled ceiling and reported fire in the attic which was quickly knocked down. Tower 88's crew then accessed the roof via ground ladders and cut a small hole to ensure no further fire extension. Engine 121's crew relieved Engine 85's crew while Engine 1's crew assisted Tower 88's crew. Engine 81 had established water supply to Engine 85 and the backup 2" line was pulled off of Engine 85. Thanks to everyone's quick work, the fire was contained to the attic and did not affect any of the exposures. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
